How do I get rid of water contamination?

Remediation depends on the type of contamination. For example, if coliformĀ is present, water can be disinfected by chlorination, boiling, or irradiation by UV light.

Our laboratory analysts are happy to discuss your water test results with you and provide remediation advice if needed.

I have a well and want to see if it is ok to drink, what do I test for?

It would be advisable to get a complete suite of tests completed including micro-biological analysis.

My children keep getting sick, can this be my water?

Gastro intestinal problems can be attributed to water contaminated with ColiformsĀ and should be investigated in order to verify the source. Micro-biological testing will determine the source should it be there.

How long does it take to get my results?

Results are emailed back within 10 days from receipt of sample.

Why should I test my water?

The answer always depends on what you want to use the water for, but generally speaking most people are concerned about the health and wellbeing of their family as well as animals and plants. Compliance issues may also come into play.

What do the parameters mean?

waterParameters is a loose term to describe the constituents within your water. Within this you will have upper and lower levels identified. Should any parameter be above the limits as set out by the EU drinking water standards it would be advisable to look for a solution to fix it.

What does the report say?

The report gives a clear range of all parameters identified within your water sample. Should any be above that which is acceptable, a note will be made along with the report as to the possible risk.

In addition you will be able to speak with a trained technician regarding any reults that may be of concern.

There is white residue in my kettle, what is this?

White residue is formed in areas of hard water and is the presence of calcium carbonate. This is not an indication of poor water, however it affects many white goods such as washing machines, dishwashers etc.

I see brown residue in my water, what does this indicate?

Brown residue can be attributed to high levels of iron or sediment in the water. Your results will determine the source and also present a remedy to overcome the problem

My water is coloured, should I not use it for drinking?

Colour does not necessarily indicate poor quality water, however confirming the source of colour will provide confidence in your supply.
